One of the best Australian Chardonnays 2009 comes from cool climate region in Australia
We have just received news that the Cuttaway Hill 2006 Chardonnay has been rated in the top 5 Chardonnays from Australia and New Zealand for 2009 by the prestigious Winestate magazine.
During 2009 it received a glowing five star rating and review and was thus recalled for the finals taste off for the Wine Of the Year Awards. It is now in the running for The Best Chardonnay in Australia at the Annual Wine of The Year Awards to be held in December this year.
We tried this wine a few days ago and found a brilliant blend of ripe fruit and subtle oak characters. It is light gold in colour. On the night we tasted citrus aromas with peaches and melon on the palate and loved the length of this cool climate wine.
Our dinner was chicken with pasta and aspargus on the night, you couldn’t ask for a better combination.
This is what we call success of a smaller Boutique Winery in an upcoming cool climate region. Congratulations to the team at Cuttaway Hill Estate.
